We have enjoyed Steve Somers’ programs for several years and always find him to be organized, helpful, professional and very entertaining for children and parents. He is always on time and not only offers a fantastic and educational program but helps promote with great posters and bookmarks–and he donates a children’s book! We look forward to his visiting The Archdale Public Library in the future.

We were so impressed with Steve’s program at our library. The children were very attentive and truly enjoyed the program.

Even though we had a small audience, Steve was just as engaging as with a large audience. All of the children and parents enjoyed the show.

Steve Somers always gives a professional and entertaining show, no matter what the theme is. He is one of the only performers I know who consistently showcases specific books in his programs. He is always mindful of libraries’ literacy goals and he focuses on the importance of reading and the joy of reading in every single show. We had Jingle Bell Magic in December 2019 and the children were absolutely delighted. The laughter and applause were proof that everyone enjoyed the show. Children and adults lined up to pet Snowball the bunny and expressed their appreciation for a terrific show. Thanks, Steve, for book talking and providing quality educational entertainment!

Amazing teacher, Steve Somers…an understatement! The magic show was show was awesome! The show was creative, and so well put together, that everyone (teachers and students included) didn’t want the show to end. Mr. Somers created a show that was filled with heartfelt stories of his childhood, that actually made you feel as if you took a journey with him to enjoy his “Christmas Story.” Only this Ralphie came with magical tricks, which were phenomenal!

Mr. Somers provided a great show. The magic was amazing and he really promotes the importance of reading in his show. He has a lot of audience participation which the children and adults enjoyed.

Steve did a great job integrating magic in while talking about character traits in the Set Sail presentation. He kept everyone’s attention throughout the 45-50min show. We loved how he tied in the military appreciation while talking about the colors of the flag because we have a large military-affiliated population at our school. I think it’s safe to say we all fell in love with David Hopperfield!

You will not be disappointed! The Amazing Teacher has been coming to our school for nearly 20 years, and his shows are consistently engaging and always a hit with both students and teachers. Everyone is on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what antics will happen next. A 10/10 recommendation!

Our students enjoyed every aspect of the show.  Mr. Somers was very engaging, cheerful, and on target. I appreciated the information that Mr. Somers sent prior to the show. This information included an excellent vocabulary list, books to be shared with students, and even word search games and coloring activities. The program, itself, included vocabulary and books from the materials list.

Mr. Somers chose students from the audience to participate. Each student was excited to join in the fun on stage. Mr. Somers was prompt, arriving right on time. He had also sent a list of needed items so it was easy to prepare the performance area. The students learned important aspects of reading, including beginning, middle, and ending of stories. Also, characters and setting were discussed. The fairy tale choices were excellent and a wonderful way to remind students of stories from the past. I would recommend this show again and again.

Steve is a returning favorite to our Community Reading Festival each year. He is engaging and entertaining for children and parents. He is the kind of entertainment needed for the over 1200 participants we have each year! His show is always a positive feedback comment we have on our evaluation cards. He is truly AMAZING!!

Steve Somers did an awesome job sharing stories from around the world and entertaining students with his magic tricks. We have hosted Steve’s programs for many years and the students and teachers are always begging for him to come back. He kept the audience spellbound and incorporated many facts about different Christmas traditions into his presentation. Our favorite parts are always the white bunny and the magical way he makes it “snow” at the end. I highly recommend Steve to any school or library looking for “edutainment”!

Steve Somers has such an amazing talent that leaves every person in the room – BIG or SMALL – with raised eyebrows, a slightly tilted head, and widened eyes! It is truly a fascinating presentation that brings books to life in such a magical way. This awesome show is packed with incredible and mind-blowing wonders!

Our K-2 students really enjoyed the “Once Upon a Time” show last week. The students were mesmerized by the magic and captivated by the fairy tales. This was our first performance of “Once Upon a Time” but our students have enjoyed many other performances by the Amazing Teacher over the past several years. I highly recommend the Amazing Teacher for your school or kid-friendly event!

We were thrilled to have Steve Somers at our library. I smiled so much my cheeks hurt! Many of the children who attended the “Salute to Seuss” program have informed me that they are going to be magicians when they grow up. One little boy even said to his mother that she had to help him follow his dreams because Mr. Steve said so!

I continue to have Steve Somers come every year to our school! Our students love his magic! His performance is entertaining, character/behavior based, and reading based! This year we had a lot of new teachers at our school. I watched them one by one put down the papers they were grading, the computers they were working on and just enjoy his show! At one point my 4th grade teachers were siting in shocked wonder-mouths hanging open. One of my veteran teachers who rarely comments on anything always makes a special point to tell me how she always enjoys his performances and hopes I get him again next year! When I see the even the jaded 5th graders engaged the entire time it warms my heart!

This was such a great show! We had the show for our Kindergarten through 2nd grade students to culminate reading month and every student was so engaged. I loved how he knew how to ramp the audience up with excitement but then knew exactly how to calm them back down and engage them quietly again. The students’ expressions were so priceless when he did his magic tricks, they were so amazed. Thank you for coming to our school and we will definitely want to have you back!

We have called on Steve year after year for our anchor entertainment for our festival that draws nearly one thousand participants! This is our first year back face to face in three years and we were so excited to have Steve as part of our festival that supports literacy in our community. My kiddos were so happy to watch the Salute to Seuss performance. They especially liked the rabbit trick. We unfortunately had another magician the Friday before his show, Monday, that was much louder and wilder, but the teachers all said they liked the more calm, musical performance and different showmanship from Magician Steve Somers.

I invited him at my previous school and they all love his show as well. It was a perfect kick-off to our Read Across America week and included many books.

Others took the photos, so I don’t have any, but it was great and he did two, PreK-1 and 2-4.

Steve performed his Arctic Express and Jingle Bell Magic shows at our library branches, and our kids loved it! These high-energy shows got the whole audience into the holiday spirit with exciting magic tricks that had even the adults stumped! The action, humor and music kept even the youngest children engaged, and they all lined up eagerly afterwards to pet Snowball the rabbit. I had multiple families come up to tell me how much they enjoyed the performance. Having Steve at our library was a great experience!

Amazing Teacher, Steve Somers is a staple of our summer reading events! We try to have him visit us every summer and he always delivers a wonderful show full of books and reading, magic and fun. He can do a program for any age and keep the audience mesmerized. He is top notch! Our summer programs would not be complete without him!

Steve Somers held the attention of a large group of mixed-age children (toddlers to tweens) in a small space for the entire show! The kids (and parents) laughed through most of the program, when they weren’t participating or yelling out answers. Meeting Hopper and receiving the big bill (IYKYK) were icing on the cake of a great performance!

Mr. Somers did a fantastic job for our summer readers! He was engaging and personable. He related so well with the children that they were participating from their seats within minutes of the show’s start. His material was well rounded and the children enjoyed the wide range of fairy tales that he shared. The children were enthralled by the magic and one of our staff is still trying to figure out how he produced a bunny in that box! We really enjoyed Mr. Somers’ program and so did our kids.

Our K-5 students had so much fun watching Amazing Steve during his Jingle Bell Magic Show. It was awesome to see the looks of surprise and excitement on their faces throughout the entire show. They were totally engaged and haven’t stopped talking about it since. Working with Mr. Steve was easy and he made sure to help us through each step of organizing his visit! We can’t wait to have him back again.

Steve Somers brought a wonderful show, taking over 700 students and staff on a train ride around the world with his Arctic Express show! Our students, PreK – 5th Grade, enjoyed the illusions and stories! Snowball Bunny was a favorite! Steve even included humor directed toward the adults! He engaged the entire audience!

He sets up and cleans up himself and requires little assistance from school staff. His presentation is very easy to accommodate into a busy schedule! He also offers discounts to multiple schools in the same town or district! I highly recommend him!

I have seen Steve Somers perform multiple times. He always delivers a great performance and everyone goes away with a smile. Plus, his bunny is adorable!
